Gallbladder duplication: rare congenital malformation of the gallbladder
In this case report, it is aimed to present a very rare gallbladder duplication diagnosed by ultrasonography (USG). A two-day-old girl who was followed up in the neonatal intensive care unit due to respiratory distress was referred to our radiology unit for routine abdominal USG examination. Abdominal USG of the patient, performed with a linear probe with a frequency of 14 MHz, revealed a gallbladder duplication with normal size and wall thickness. Gallbladder duplication may be associated with bile duct and vascular system anomalies. Therefore, in cases where cholecystectomy is considered, preoperative diagnosis of this congenital anomaly will minimize the risk of complications that may develop during the operation.
